Fabricio Bloisi was appointed Group Chief Executive Officer in July 2024. Fabricio was previously CEO and Chairman of the Group’s Brazilian food delivery business, iFood. Under Fabricio’s leadership, iFood has grown to be the leading food delivery business in Latin America, delivering over 90m orders per month and is highly profitable. Fabricio is an innovator, strategist, and entrepreneur, and has spent his entire career working in technology. In 1998, he founded Movile Group, a Brazilian technology investment company, through which Naspers made its initial investment into iFood in 2013. Alongside his work as an entrepreneur, Fabricio created the 1Bi Foundation, a non-profit organisation that supports education through technology to create opportunities for young Brazilians. Fabricio holds a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, an MBA from Fundação Getulio Vargas, and has completed further studies at Harvard Business School and the Stanford University Graduate School of Business.

Basil Sgourdos is our Group Chief Financial Director and Executive Director. He was appointed as the Group Chief Financial Director of Naspers in July 2014. He worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers Inc. from 1989 to 1994. After that, he joined Naspers, initially as the finance manager of the South African operations division in MultiChoice and then as chief financial officer of Naspers’s investment in United Broadcasting Corporation plc, listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand, where he remained for ten years. He then spent two years in Amsterdam as the general manager of the global video-entertainment business development unit before being appointed financial director of MIH Holdings Proprietary Limited (MIH Holdings) in January 2009. He held this position until he became the Group Chief Financial Director of Naspers. He is a qualified South African chartered accountant with a BCom from the University of the Witwatersrand and a BAcc Hons from the University of South Africa.

Ervin Tu was appointed Group President and Chief Investment Officer in July 2024, after serving as Group Chief Investment Officer since August 2021. He joined the group from his managing partner position at the SoftBank Vision Fund. There, he helped lead investments in Uber and Bytedance, among others, across technology sectors, including transportation, logistics, next-gen media and sustainability. He previously co-led M&A and corporate finance for SoftBank Group International. Before Softbank, Ervin was a managing director in the technology banking group at Goldman Sachs, where he focused on M&A. Ervin has an AB from Dartmouth College and an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

David has advised the Naspers group of companies since 1996. Before joining the group full-time, he was a partner in Mallinicks Attorneys (now Webber Wentzel) and worked in London at two leading international law firms. In 2008 David was appointed Naspers and MIH group senior counsel. In this role, he led the legal teams for the group’s M&A activities in Latin America and Central and Eastern Europe. After that, David became general counsel of the Allegro Group and was promoted to general counsel: Global Transaction ecommerce at Naspers. Finally, in June 2015, he was appointed Group General Counsel, Naspers Group.

Gustavo Vitti was appointed Group Chief People Officer in July 2024. He joined the group from iFood, where he was Chief People and Sustainability Officer for over four years. Gustavo has diverse experience in logistics, production, planning, and sales, previously holding leadership positions at Kraft Heinz (Latin America and APAC) and ALL - Latin America Logistics. He is also a partner, investor and board member for several Brazilian start-ups. Gustavo holds a Bachelor's degree in physics from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, and has completed an Advanced Executive Program in Management from Kellogg Graduate School of Management.

Euro joined the Group as the Global Head for AI and Data Science in March 2018. He has spent more than 25 years working as a technology executive and entrepreneur in data science, machine learning and AI. Euro is an active angel investor, with a track record in technology start-ups. He currently holds positions on the Board of Directors for two companies and is co-founder of Data Science for Social Good, a non-profit organisation committed to leveraging data science for societal impact. Euro studied Computer Science and holds a PhD in Economics. He lectures on AI Governance at Insead Business School and is a Visiting Professor at the University of Salzburg.

Phuthi Mahanyele-Dabengwa joined Naspers as South Africa CEO, in July 2019. She is an independent director of Vodacom Group. She serves on the advisory board of Stellenbosch University’s business school. Phuthi also serves on the board of the United Nation’s Global Compact Network SA. She is also a council member of the BRICS Business Council in South Africa.

Before joining Naspers, she was the co- founder and Executive Chairperson of Sigma Capital, an investment holding company formed in 2015. She held the position of CEO at Shanduka Group, an investment holding company from 2004 to 2015.

Prior, she was the Head of the Project Finance South Africa business unit at the Development Bank of Southern Africa. Early in her career, Phuthi worked in New York at Fieldstone, an international firm specialising in the financing of infrastructure assets. She later transferred to the South African office, where she served as a Vice President.

In 2020, Phuthi ranked number 42 in Fortune’s Most Powerful Women International list. In May 2016 Phuthi became a member of the Rutgers University Hall of Distinguished Alumni. She has been awarded several accolades such as CNBC Africa’s All Africa Business Leaders “Woman of the Year Award” in 2019 and the Forbes Woman Africa “Businesswoman of the Year” Award in 2014. In 2013, she was awarded a “Distinguished Achievement” Award by The Douglass Society, and the Africa Investors recognised her as a “Leading Africa Woman in Business of the Year” in 2012. In 2011, Rutgers University conferred on her the “Rutgers Vision of Excellence Award”.

In 2009, she was awarded the “Most Influential Woman in Government and Business” by Financial Services. The Wall Street Journal counted her among the “Top 50 women in the world to watch”. Phuthi was also selected as a Global Young Leader in 2007 by the World Economic Forum. She was awarded “Top in Project Finance, 2003” by the Association of Black Securities & Investment Professionals.

Phuthi completed a BA Economics from Rutgers University, USA in 1993, and an MBA from De Montfort University in the UK in 1996. She also completed the Kennedy School of Government Executive Education programme “Global Leadership and Public Policy for the 21st Century” at Harvard University in 2008.

Frederik Zietsman has been with Takealot Group since 2015, becoming its Chief Executive Officer on 1 February 2024.

 

Working his way up from a Profit Analyst, he took on an executive role as Head of Marketplace at takealot.com. Shortly thereafter, he extended his portfolio to Head of Retail and Marketplace. He moved into the role of takealot.com CEO in March 2021, and as of February 2024, Zietsman succeeded Mamongae Mahlare as Takealot Group CEO.

 

Before joining the Takealot Group, Zietsman spent over five years working for Distell (Africa's leading producer of alcoholic beverages), predominantly focused on revenue growth management and commercial business analytics.

 

A Western Cape native, he attended Paarl Boys' High School and completed his undergraduate and Honours degrees in BCom Management Accounting. He is a qualified Chartered Management Accountant. Zeitsman is married with a young daughter who keeps him on his toes.

Raj Lalbahadur holds a BComm from Unisa and an MBA from the New York Finance Institute. He joined Media24 in 2007 as a senior financial manager after holding positions in, among others, the petroleum and paper manufacturing industries and SARS. He was appointed chief financial officer of Media24 Lifestyle division in 2009, acted as Media24’s chief financial officer in 2015 and was appointed as general manager of Lifestyle in 2017 before joining the corporate office as group project management officer in 2018. Raj was appointed as Media24’s group CFO and director responsible for the finance function on 1 May 2023. On 5 September 2024, Raj was appointed as Interim CEO of Media24, effective 10 September 2024.

Karen Nadasen, PayU Africa’s CEO, is regularly described as one of South Africa’s most inspiring women in tech, nominated for IT Personality of the Year 2017, listed among the 100 Most Influential Young South Africans 2017 and the Regional Winner (SADC) of Africa’s Most Influential Women in Business and Government 2018. Since taking the helm, PayU has dramatically grown its total ecommerce processing volume and revenue, whilst costs have reduced significantly during her tenure. Though Karen’s industry experience, mostly abroad, ranges from FTSE 100 companies to large multinationals, she started as a Java developer in a small development house in Cape Town. She is a passionate advocate for women in technology, leads diversity and inclusion for PayU Africa and is the Chair of the Ecommerce Forum of South Africa (EFSA).

Koos Bekker is the non-independent non-executive chair of the board. He led the founding team of the M-Net/MultiChoice pay television business in 1985. He was also a founder of MTN Group Limited, a South Africa-based multinational mobile telecommunications company. He headed the group in its international and internet expansion until 1997 when he became chief executive officer of Naspers. He retired as the chief executive officer of Naspers on 31 March 2014. On 17 April 2015, he succeeded Ton Vosloo as chair of the Naspers board. He holds a BA Hons and honorary doctorate in commerce from Stellenbosch University, an LLB from the University of the Witwatersrand and an MBA from Columbia University.

Hendrik du Toit is a non-executive director and our lead independent director. Hendrik is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ninety One. He also served as Joint Chief Executive Officer of Investec Group from 1 October 2018 until the demerger and listing of Ninety One from Investec Group on 16 March 2020.

She is currently an independent board member and chair of the audit committee of Friesland Campina; senior independent board member of AXA Investment Managers and independent board member and member of the audit committee of AXA Group; also, independent board member and chair of the risk committee of NIBC Holding. Mrs Kemna was previously a member of the executive board of APG Group in the Netherlands. She initially held the chief investment officer role and was subsequently chief finance and risk officer. Nolo Letele is a non-independent non-executive director. He joined M-Net in 1990 and pioneered MultiChoice’s expansion outside South Africa. In 1995, he moved to the Republic of Ghana, where he served as MultiChoice’s West African regional general manager. In 1999, he was appointed chief executive officer of MultiChoice South Africa Holdings Proprietary Limited (MultiChoice SA). He later served as the MultiChoice group chief executive officer until 2010, when he was appointed executive chair of MultiChoice SA and is currently a non-executive chair. He won several awards, including Media Man of the Year in 2001 (Saturday Star, Business Report), Media Owner of the Year in 2003 (Financial Mail Adfocus), and the Lifetime Africa Achievement Prize for media development in Africa (Millennium Excellence Foundation). Roberto Oliveira de Lima is an independent non-executive director. He developed his career at companies like Accor S.A., Rhone Poulenc S.A. (now part of Sanofi S.A.) and Compagnie de Saint-Gobain S.A. in the information technology and finance areas. He was chair and chief executive officer of Credicard Group, chief executive officer of Vivo S.A., the largest mobile telecommunications company in Brazil, chair of Publicis Brazil and president of Natura S.A. (Natura). He was previously a board member of Edenred S.A. in France, Pão de Açúcar S.A. (Casino) and Natura in Brazil. He is a member of the RNI Negócios Imobiliários S.A board of directors. He retired as Naspers’s financial director on 30 June 2014 and remained on the Naspers board as a non-executive director. Mark Sorour is a non-independent non-executive director. He joined the Naspers group in 1994, leading business development and corporate finance globally. Following assignments in Hong Kong and Amsterdam, he returned to Cape Town in 2002 as the Naspers group’s chief investment officer, responsible for all global investment activities. On 31 March 2018, he retired from the Naspers group after over 20 years. However, he remained on the Naspers board as a non-executive director. Previously, she was head of North India of Barclays Bank PLC. She began her investment banking career at ANZ Grindlays in London. She serves on the boards of directors of Ashok Leyland Limited and Jio Payments Bank Limited. She holds a BA Hons in economics from St. Stephen’s College, India, and a master in economics from the Delhi School of Economics, India.
